MINISTER OF WORKS RESPONDS TO OPPOSITION

ADVOCACY TRAINING FOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY LEADERS

St. George, July 21, 2010 -- Seventeen  youth and community leaders from across the Eastern Caribbean will  participate in an Advocacy Training Workshop on July 22-23 at the Grenada Grand Beach Resort. The training will be facilitated by the Caribbean Child Support Initiative (CCSI) Programme, and forms part of an advocacy strategy to build the capacities of youth and community leaders to advocate for the provision of quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Family Support services throughout communities.

GRENADIAN DELEGATION ATTENDS 28TH INTERNATIONAL AIDS CONFERENCE

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, TUESDAY, JULY 20, 2010_ All eyes will be on Grenada when its representatives take centre stage at the 28th International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria, where the Grenadian delegation will present the strategy implemented to manage the HIV/AIDS epidemic following the passage of Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

YACHTS ALREADY UTILIZING MOORINGS INSTALLED AT THE SANDY ISLAND/OYSTER BED MARINE PROTECTED AREA

Hillsborough, Carriacou, July 21st, 2010- Although it’s just about one week before Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas officially declares the Sandy Island/Oyster Bed area a marine protected area (MPA), yachts are anchoring in the Sandy Island area and utilising the moorings for anchorage.

AGRICULTURE DIVISION CONTINUES TO REAP THE BENEFITS OF AGRICULTURE REVITALIZATION PROGRAM

Hillsborough, Carriacou, July 20th, 2010- A variety of crops, produced under the government’s agriculture revitalization program, is now available to residents of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.  They include black eye peas and egg plant, which are being sold at $2.50 per pound; and ochro at $5 per bag.
