This committee, a Division of the Grenada Board of Tourism Division, failed to contact the HOF to be a part of the planned history-making launch of Grenada Carnival in New York, scheduled for May 24, 2009.

GRENADA’S SPICES AND "BOUCAN" THEME STRIKE GOLD AT CHELSEA

London, May 20, 2008 -- Grenada’s floral display of tropical blooms at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show has won a coveted Gold Medal. The theme for this year’s winning exhibit, created by Suzanne Gaywood, was inspired by the nutmeg, cocoa and spice producing estates on the island and the activities centered around a ‘boucan’ -- the area where the spices are brought in for preserving, packing and dispatching.

PRIVATE GLEN HANKEY

 Pvt. Glen Hankey LONDON, UK, May 22, 2009 - Former sports journalist Glen Hankey on Friday graduated from Phase 1 training in the British army.
Private Hankey, who previously worked at the Grenada Broadcasting Network, successfully completed 14 weeks of training at the Army Training Centre (ATC) in Pirbright, Surrey. He was attached to Morley's troop in the 96th Squadron.
Hankey’s Phase 1 training included Firing the 5.56mm rifle; demonstrating
aerobic fitness and muscular endurance; treating battlefield casualties;
operating in a nuclear, biological and chemical environment; employing basic
fieldcraft skills; navigating across country; employing security measures;
maintaining personal health, hygiene and welfare; developing personal
attributes vital to operations; displaying qualities of a British soldier;
maintaining personal finances; recognising the structure of the British army
and performing drills.
