ST. PATRICK EAST EMERGENCY CENTRE SOON TO OPEN

ST. GEORGE’S, August 24th, 2010 - The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA ) has provided the St. Patrick East District with supplies for its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)  in River Sallee.

2nd NOTICE OF INTER-SECTOR MEETING  

The Grenada Netball Association informs all CEO’S, Team Managers/Team Captains and affiliates of the GNA that a meeting will be held on Thursday 26th August 2010, at the Tanteen Netball Complex at 5:00 pm. to discuss the GCIC/GNA Inter-sector Netball Tournament.  Please note that the tournament is scheduled to commence on Saturday October 16th.

MARIJUANA TREES UPROOTED

St. George, August 24, 2010 -- Officers attached to the Special Services Unit (S.S.U) of the Royal Grenada Police Force, today uprooted sixty-seven (67) Marijuana trees ranging from 1 foot - 8 feet in height in the Mt. Pleasance, St. Patrick’s area.  The men discovered the trees at about 9:00 a.m while conducting an operation in the area.  No one has been arrested and charged.

VAT REVIEW

St. George’s, Grenada, August 24, 2010:  It has now been six months since the implementation of the Value Added Tax (VAT).  The Government through the Ministry of Finance is currently reviewing its policy, as a means of addressing the concerns of various stakeholders as it relates to the VAT, and as such has planned consultations with the following Sectors for Wednesday 25th August, 2010.

St George's, August 24th: Grenada is to benefit from scholarships and an annual donation of EC$1 million from the Kingdom of Morocco.
