PEOPLE'S LABOUR MOVEMENT TO LAUNCH RECRUITMENT DRIVE
St. George, October 5, 2007 -- Following the mass resignation of four members of the People's Labour Movement in support of the recent resignation of party Chairman Dr. Terrence Marryshow, Political leader Dr. Francis Alexis has told the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN) that his party will soon embark on a drive to recruit new blood to the party.
Marryshow's resignation came following his critique of the decision by Justice Bell to preside over the recent sentencing hearing for the Grenada 13 despite allegations of his past association with some of the prisoners who were to be sentenced. Alexis continues to maintain that Marryshow was disrespectful to the judiciary by comments which he made in a weekly column published in the Spice Isle Review.
Among the four who resigned this week was Bernard Jones, publisher of the Spice Isle Review.
Alexis also told GBN that he does not believe that these resignations will hurt the party. Listen here.
