GRENADIAN GROUP HEADS TO ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES
St. George, March 19, 2008 -- A group of 19 Grenadians will leave here on Thursday for St.Vincent and the Grenadines to undertake four days of Christian Ministry with children.
\The team, headed by the Missions Director at Evangelistic Center,
Angela Simon, will provide the gospel message to children ages 5 to 12
at the Hope for Life Restoration Ministries of Pastor Gevandean Wilson
at Arnos Vale, Kingstown.
“The Easter holiday period is a very special one for us. This has
become an annual event as we have already done ministry twice in
Carriacou in 2006 and 2007. We are now moving up to St. Vincent this
year. It gives us a chance to share our faith with the next
generation,” Simon said.
She noted that the group travelling to Kingstown will be mixed ages with a number of young people as well as several adults.
“At evangelistic Center we believe that Missions is the mission of the
church. That’s what we were placed on the earth to do, reach those who
are outside of Christ and that motivates us to move beyond the walls
and the boundaries that divide us,” she said.
Senior Pastor at Evangelistic Center, Bishop Christopher Baker says the
church is very supportive of sending its people to the mission field
whether its here in Grenada or other parts of the Caribbean of the
wider global community.
He said the project gives young persons from his assembly the
experience of travel and sharing their knowledge and the Gospel message
with others while at the same time it provides an opportunity for
others to be able to accept Christ as their personal Saviour. The team
includes evangelist Brian Worme, educator Andrea Phillip as well as
teachers and students who are members of Evangelistic Center.
“We have been working with our colleagues in St.Vincent and the
Grenadines for the last year to make this a reality. We are hoping and
praying for a successful four days of ministry, Simon said.
