GOSPEL CELEBRATION
 Grammy artist Wintley Phipps St. George, March 26, 2008: This coming Saturday the Morne Rouge playing field will be transformed into a haven of praise and worship as The New National Party hosts a Grand Gospel Celebration. The evening is scheduled to begin at 8p.m. and will feature the Trinidadian born Grammy nominated gospel artist Wintley Phipps.
Pastor Phipps has performed for four United States Presidents and
several World Leaders. He has done concerts for Presidents George W.
Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and Jimmy Carter. He has also
performed for President Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa.
His tremendous popularity has increased with his guest appearances on
Television programs, such as the Oprah Winfrey show, The Billy Graham
Crusades and Dr. Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power Telecast just to name
a few.
Throughout his career, he has founded numerous organizations including
the US Dream Academy, a non-profit organization with the aim of helping
children who have a family member in prison.
His compassion and God given talents have made him the recipient of
awards such as the Oprah’s Angel Network $100, 000 Your Life Award, and
two Grammy Award Nominations in 1988 and 1989. His scheduled appearance
is being met here with tremendous enthusiasm especially amongst the
religious community who eagerly await his upcoming performance.
