BAKERS ASSOCIATION MEET WITH MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING

St. George, April 07, 2008, -- Representatives of the Bakers Association met with the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Planning, Mr. Mike Sylvester, and other officials of the Ministries of Finance and Economic Development and Planning, on Friday April 4, 2008, to discuss the recent increase in the price of bread.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the impact of the current situation on the consumer and economy in general, and come up with suggestions in an attempt to cushion the effect.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to take the issues raised at the meeting back to their respective organizations for further discussion with a view to influencing the current prices as well as agreeing on a framework for future price changes.

A follow up meeting is scheduled for April 18, 2008.
