INCREASE IN PRICES FOR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

St. George, May 9, 2008 -- The General public is hereby informed that, effective Monday, May 12th, instant, the retail prices of petroleum products (Gasoline, Diesel, Kerosene and LPG {Cooking Gas}) in the State of Grenada will experience the under-mentioned changes:

The new Retail Prices are computed based on the average FOB costs; that is, (ex-refinery prices), for the period, February 24th, 2008 to April 19th, 2008.

The Government will continue to closely monitor the pricing mechanism and would adjust prices in accordance with subsequent market price movements.  All consumers are encouraged to act wisely to conserve and use energy efficiently. This situation must not be abused by any persons involved in the sale of these products to gain excess profit. Consumers are encouraged to report any such incidences to the Price Control /consumer Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Finance.
