Q WEST PROMOTIONS CELEBRATES 10 YEARS WITH BENEFITS FOR THE GRENADA KIDNEY PATIENT FOUNDATION
St. George’s – 26th, May 2008 -- The landscape of entertainment in Grenada changed with the advent of Q West Promotions in May of 1998.
Over the next ten years the bar of quality was raised on several
occasions through the hosting of a plethora of events that have become
the standard against which all entertainment entities are measured.
Over the past ten years, Q West Promotions has completely
revolutionized the entire entertainment scene, elevating the quality of
events through the provision of superior event management, production
and artistes selection. Also noteworthy is the variety of events put on
by Q West Promotions; from mega concerts to club events to boat rides.
And from St. Andrew, to St. John to St. George Q West has brought its
special brand of entertainment to Grenadians.
It is also very imperative to note the economic impact and trickle-down
effect of the investments of Q West Promotions. From vendors to
security to transportation providers to its sponsors, the value of a Q
West event is far-reaching. Additionally, Q West Promotions has made
charitable financial donations to the Dorothy Hopkin and Queen
Elizabeth homes and several individuals seeking medical assistance in
one form or the other.
To mark the special occasion, on Wednesday May 21st Q West Promotions
made a financial donation to the Grenada Kidney Patient Foundation.
Accepting the donation on behalf of The Foundation was Mrs. Heather
Sylvester the Secretary / Treasurer of the Foundation.
During the presentation, Managing Director of Q West Promotions Steve
Duncan reiterated the importance of entities such as Q West undertaking
socially-redeeming endeavors especially in the area of health-related
initiatives. To this end, Mr. Duncan took the opportunity to announce
the beginning of a Foundation under the auspices of Q West that will
solicit funding to bring to Grenada an MRI machine. A target date of
2010 has been set for the arrival of this vital and expensive piece of
medical equipment.
To celebrate the past ten years and to acknowledge the support of
Grenadians over that period, Q West Promotions will be hosting a major
Father’s Day event on Sunday June 15th, 2008 at the Grenada National
Stadium.
This unique event will be absolutely free to the public and will
feature reggae crooner Maxi Priest. Additionally there will be a bingo
with a $40,000 jackpot plus other prizes including flat screen
televisions and laptops. Also forming part of the evening’s
entertainment will be a unique Father’s Day Karaoke Competition among
some of Grenada’s top vocalists. This special event will begin at 4pm
and end at midnight. Special security measure will be put in place to
accommodate the expected crowd. One such measure will include an 18 and
over age limit for persons to enter the event on June 15th.
Q West Promotions is grateful to everyone who, in one way or another,
made the last 10 years possible. Sponsors, especially Heineken and
Cable & Wireless have had productive relationships with the
company, and the Grenadian public has exhibited great faith and trust
in its ability to produce quality events.
