We departed True Blue bay aboard a yacht, Shiloh -- donated by the kind
folks at Horizon Yacht Charters, James and Jackie Pascall, to visit
our dear friends on the sister isle of Carriacou. Thanks to the expert
guidance of Captain Michael, we weathered a horrendous rainstorm and
arrived in tact. The intent was to host the August 3rd edition of
Sundays with George Grant from Carriacou.
While we were plagued by technical problems on the internet, we did
have a rather interesting session which included a "live" audience and
a host of very interesting guests -- including Hon. Elvin Nimrod
(Opposition MP/NNP), Sen. George Prime (Minister of Carriacou and
Petite Martinique Affairs/NDC), Dr. Ram Rao (NNP supporter), Luther
Renee (Chairman of NDC's Carriacou branch), the new Attorney General,
Jimmy Bristol), Today's Wonders' Jenine Viechweg, authors Jennifer
Hosten and Shaun Sarsfield, and our incredibly hospitable host, James
Pascall of Horizon Yacht Charters. The program is currently available
in our archives on this site.
It is important that we acknowledge the kind assistance of Kim Mills,
who operates the Carriacou station, KAYAK FM, which has graciously
brought our weekly broadcast to the people of Carriacou, Petit
Martinique and the Grenadines for the past 3-1/2 years. Kim went
beyond the call of duty to facilitate us, and for this we are deeply
grateful.
Indeed, while away from Grenada, we were able to have some much
deserved R & R. But, the high point of our weekend was being
afforded the honour of hosting members of the newly sworn in Cabinet
aboard Shiloh on Monday afternoon.
Oh yes, I did find the time to snorkel daily, and may have managed to
lose about 15 grams. Regrettably, the attached photos lied and did not reflect this major achievement.
