CARICOM'S SECRETARY GENERAL MEETS WITH GRENADA'S CABINET

St. George's, December 2, 2008 --CARICOM's Secretary General Edwin Carrington has briefed government ministers about the structure of the organisation and Grenada's crucial role in the integration process.
Dr Carrington and a team of Caricom officials met with Prime Minister
Tillman Thomas and other Cabinet Ministers at a half day session at
Cabinet Room on Tuesday.
According to the Caricom, chief the briefing was to update the
government on some of the key issues on the agenda of regional leaders
as well as to set out some of the conclusions and end results they are
hoping to achieve.
He says that there has been a commitment for a return visit to meet,
either as a group or with individual Ministers. Click here to listen
The Caricom Secretary-General says that Prime Minister Thomas now has
one of the crucial portfolios of Science and Technology which he
describes as an important element of the regional integration process.
Dr Carrington says that Tuesday's meeting also highlights the need for more dialogue and discussions within Caricom. Click here to listen.
