SENATOR DEVON RACHAE APPALLED WITH GOVERNMENT MEMBER BEHAVIOUR
St. George's, December 10, 2008 -- Sen. the Hon Devon Rache says he is appalled and shocked that a member of the Government will warn against using the name of God in Parliament.
According to Sen Rache, members of the Government side have previously
laughed and jeered at his references to God, but this time he was
interrupted by Sen Arley Gill who was seeking the support of the
President of the House to prevent him from referring to God at the last
sitting of the Senate.
According to Sen Rache if the behaviour of Sen. Gill represents the
Governments views, then we can be going down a dangerous road as a
nation.
Speaking on the decision of the Minister for Health to resign from his
position as a Pastor, Sen Rache said it is unfortunate that Pastor Hood
would have misled persons during the election to believe that it was
not necessary to resign, since he got a calling from God to perform in
his position as pastor and as a politician. The young Senator believes
that it is those kinds of actions that further erode the confidence
that the public has in politicians.
