Braveboy, a highly regarded former teacher at St. Joseph’s Convent, St.
Andrew from 1992-2002, holds a BA in Spanish and a M.Ed. in curriculum,
instruction and teacher leadership from Midwestern State University.
Braveboy has also won numerous teacher awards during his five years as
a Spanish teacher at the school. Another Grendian teacher, Trevor
Wildman, previously won similar accolades while a teacher at another
local secondary school.
“Peter has always been associated with excellence in teaching. Many of
his past students from Grenada have taken on Spanish as their primary
subject due to his influence,” says former colleague from Grenada, Kim
Fullerton, himself a successful teacher in a Dallas area school.
Braveboy leads a field of many successful Grenadian male teachers who
first served at home before earning their degrees and making an impact
in the United States. Marvin Superville holds a similar position in
New York. Alston Calliste, Lester Pierre, Carlos Thomas, Joel
Robertson, Donnell Thomas, Adrian Peters and David Sayers are all among
the growing ranks of excellent teachers who have graduated through
Midwestern’s Caribbean Programme.
He is recently married to Kinda Williams, a graduate and current nursing student at Midwestern State.
