OUR CARNIVAL QUEEN NOW IN ST. VINCENT

St. George's, June 29, 2009 -- The 2008 Carnival Queen Miss Aheida Charles is in St. Vincent this week, representing Grenada at the annual Miss Carival Queen Show.

The very talented student of the St. George’s University took the title last year here in Grenada with a most memorable performance including a skit that still draws a smile when aired on local television.

The Grenada Cultural Foundation and Grenada Carnival Committee have extended best wishes to Miss Charles as she takes her beauty and talent regionally after impressively representing her home parish St. Patrick in the National competition.

The local Carnival season is heating up with a plethora of activities over the past weekend. As the nation joined the fisher folk to celebrate fisherman’s birthday, Spicemas action is increasing.

Calypsonian Gary Williams launched his 2009 album on Sunday in Telescope and Gouyave hosted ‘Mas in June’ as part of Fisherman’s birthday celebrations with a massive jump up through the streets of the town that never sleeps.

This weekend (Sunday July 05th) its Pan action at the Tivoli Hard Court with the launch of the Panorama Competition and the Bomb Tune Competition. Starting time is 5pm and the admission is $10.
