MORE U.K TRAVEL WRITERS VISIT GRENADA
St. George’s, July 1, 2009 -- The Grenada Board of Tourism has taken steps to ensure that very soon, persons who read the UK’S Travel Channel www.travelchannel.co.uk will have access to a 1,500 word feature on Grenada.
This will be possible due to the July 1, 2009 arrival from the UK of
Mrs. Petra Shepherd who will spend a week in Grenada enjoying a
vacation prize that she won at the Guild of British Travel Writers
dinner in November last year. What has been dubbed as ‘a working
holiday’ will result in a feature article containing the logos of the
Grenada Board of Tourism, Mount Cinnamon Hotel, and Monarch Airlines,
as well as links to the individual websites.
Readers of the Travel Weekly and Take a Break Magazines in the United
Kingdom will also have opportunities to share updated information about
Grenada. Freelance journalist Mrs. Jo Cooke will arrive in Grenada on
July 1, 2009 to write an article in the Destination Section of the
Travel Weekly Magazine and a double page feature for the Take a Break
Magazine.
Considering that the United Kingdom is Grenada’s most valuable source
market, the Grenada Board of Tourism is pleased that these press trips
by well-known British travel writers can be organized at this time.
Their visits bring to twenty-one (21) the number of British media
persons that have visited Grenada during the first half of 2009.
Special thanks to the Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association for
providing the necessary support to enable the fruition of these
important promotional opportunities in the United Kingdom. It is the
Board’s intention to vigorously continue its use of travel writers to
convey experiences of Grenada to potential visitors.
