GRENADA CARNIVAL COMMITTEE APOLOGY
St. George's, August 8, 2009 -- The Grenada Carnival Committee (GCC) wishes to tender its sincere apologies to all our patrons who attempted to access our live pay per view webcast for the GCC-LIME Soca Monarch Final last night (Friday).
The GCC has been committed to finding innovative ways of engaging
culture lovers worldwide, as well as, lifting the profiles of our
stakeholders, who contribute significantly to the spectacle of
Spicemas.
Unfortunately, the Pay Per View Company contracted to handle the
transactions had technical problems with their system and was unable to
forward the user name and passwords to subscribers, after they had paid
in order to access the live feed. Although this was resolved later in
the broadcast, our promise to the thousands of carnival lovers around
the globe was not kept.
We have demanded a FULL refund to everyone who bought packages, and this is being processed immediately.
The Company has tested its system today and all systems are go for the
Panorama Championships tonight (Saturday) and Dimanche Gras tomorrow
(Sunday). We are very hopeful that persons within the Diaspora and
beyond will again embrace the opportunity to be a part of Spicemas
2K9. Rest assured that your rights will be stoutly protected by the
GCC.
