GBT HOSTS OVERSEAS MEDIA FOR SPICE MAS 2K9
St. George's, August, 12, 2009 -- Following a series of media appearances during the Regional Promotional Campaign, where emphasis was placed on showcasing Grenada’s cultural, sporting, and natural appeals, the Grenada Board of Tourism has hosted a selection of media personalities who recorded Grenada’s Carnival.
Barbados-based CBC Radio was represented by Mr. Anthony “DJ Admiral”
Nelson, who along with Mr. Charles Davis from Power 102 FM of Trinidad
& Tobago both covered the event.
There was also a three member delegation from Shabeau Style TV and
Magazine visiting to collect information for the production of two
30-minute programmes that will highlight Carnival activities, as well
as Grenada’s natural and cultural aesthetics.
Production crews from Gayelle Television and Tempo were also in Grenada
for Spice Mas 2K9. They were both involved in capturing images of the
Carnival for the production of programmes based on Grenada’s cultural
and national attributes.
Whilst here the visiting media personalities also conducted interviews
with key tourism officials, as well as Government and Carnival
personnel for inclusion in their news and current affairs programmes.
In full recognition of the importance of Carnival to Grenada’s Tourism
Industry, the Grenada Board of Tourism was pleased to play an integral
role in attracting this level of regional coverage for Spice Mas 2009.
