REPUBLIC BANK CONTINUES TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

St. George’s, August 25, 2009 -- In line with Republic Bank’s ongoing commitment to youth development in the area of education under its Power to Make a Difference programme, the Bank has presented Randy Cadet with his third disbursement of $10,000. Randy is the Bank’s 2008 scholarship recipient and is pursuing the final year of his Bachelors in Economics degree with the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill campus.
On August 25th, Randy met with the Bank’s Managing Director, Keith
Johnson to report on his progress. According to Randy, “my experience
at Cave Hill has proved memorable. I was able to adjust easily to the
new environment and maintain good grades. I am indeed thankful to
Republic Bank for investing in my education and express sincere
appreciation to the entire Republic Bank family for allowing my
academic dreams to become a reality.”
Mr. Johnson commended Randy on his performance to date and expressed
the Bank’s pleasure at being associated with the enhancement of
educational skills through its sponsorship of students such as Randy,
who is doing himself and his country very proud.
The Republic Bank scholarship is available to Grenadian Nationals
pursuing studies at the Bachelors level with any of the main campuses
of the UWI. The scholarship is based on academic record and financial
need.
