GULP IS COMING BACK AGAIN TO STOP THE PAIN
St. George, December 14, 2009 -- The Grenada United Labour Party is preparing for a serious stake at the next general elections and has begun rebuilding its constituency groups as part of plans in preparation for the convention in March 2010, which will elect it’s leadership. Over the last few weeks constituency groups were established in St. John, St .Patrick East , St George South and St David.
Among the persons that are now chairpersons of the constituencies
branches ; Mark Issac a long standing senior member of NNP and former
deputy party chairman has been able to claim the position of Chairman
of the South St George Constituency branch. Other persons include
Glenda Hosten and Lillian Williams for St John and St. Patrick East
respectively. This week branches in St Patrick West and St Marks are
expected to be established.
Scores of new members and old staunch supporters gathered at
different venues and in keeping with the party’s manifesto nominated
and approved ten (10) delegates for each of these constituencies. This
would form part of the 150 delegates who will vote the new executive in
office. Chanting young and old, “ we will never let our party fall” ,
these jubilated members -- most of which are very young Grenadians are
excited about the new possibilities for GULP. They have given their
commitments to rebuilding GULP and taking on the task of rebuilding
Grenada and righting the wrongs of the past. They have pledged to
remain united and continue to stand firm to the party’s philosophy of
love and good will to all Grenadians.
Gulp promises to bring peace and healing to the nation and
will now canvass for good men and women of substance to be candidates
and prospective candidates. These persons are expected to come from a
wide cross section of the Grenadian community. Gulp firmly believes
that Grenada needs a new breed of politicians who love people and are
making their contribution to the lives of Grenadians, not just when
they get into office.
The spokesperson, Collin Francis indicated that good politicians are
persons who love people and whose lives are built on making
contribution to Grenada and not just been put up as a candidate. Gulp
is getting ready to tackle the issues and bring some sense of relief to
the Tri Island State of Grenada , Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
