SUSPENSION OF DIRECTOR OF TOURISM

St. George’s, December 17, 2009 -- The Director of Tourism William Joseph has been suspended for two weeks effective December 8, 2009.

The disciplinary action by the Board of Directors of the Grenada Board of Tourism (GBT) is as a result of Mr. Joseph’s failure to comply with a directive of the Board (relating to the Sunwing/Sunrise inaugural flight of November 24, 2009) that no further public comment be made until the Board of Directors of GBT has completed its investigation.

The Board is hopeful that their investigation would be completed by December 31, 2009 and a report made to the Minister for Tourism.
