MLS TRY-OUT FOR NATIONAL FOOTBALLER
NEW YORK, USA, FEBRUARY 9th 2010 – The Marlon Glean Soccer Camp has secured a Try-Out for National Footballer Jason James with Major League Soccer (MLS) Team New England Revolution.
James is a former student of the St. John’s Christian Secondary School
and has represented Grenada at every level of football including U17,
U20, U23 and Senior. He recently represented Grenada at the CONCACAF
Gold Cup and in World Cup qualifications against Costa Rica.
James received a soccer scholarship in 2004 to attend Mercer County
Community College in New Jersey through the Marlon Glean Soccer Camp.
At Mercer he was very instrumental in the college winning the National
Junior College Soccer Championship. He was voted All American, All
Region, All Conference and Most outstanding Defender. After Mercer,
James transferred to Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) where
he continued to excel in soccer.
At SCSU he won the Northeast-10 Conference Soccer Championship, the New
England Region and was voted Most Outstanding Defender in the
Northeast-10 Conference and the New England Region.
The Try-Out will take place on February 18th in Boston, Massachusetts.
Should James impress the New England coaching staff he will have earned
the chance to join fellow Grenadian Shalrie Joseph, and would be the
second Grenadian to play in the MLS.
