PLAYING OUR PART IN WATER CONSERVATION
St. George, February 23, 2010 -- As the El Niño weather system continues to contribute towards lower than average rainfall for Grenada and the rest of the region, Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina has put various water conservation initiatives in place.
A letter signed by the Marina General Manager Glynn Thomas and distributed throughout the marina states:
“We would be very grateful if you could ensure taps on the pontoons are
switched off when not in use and if possible, avoid washing your boat
down. Any other steps you can take to help the island conserve its
water supply would be greatly appreciated by all of us.”
This letter has been hand delivered in packages to boat captains on
entry to the facility. Additionally, a notice placed in all bathrooms
at the Marina also focuses on water conservation with the message:
“We are very fortunate to live and work on a beautiful tropical island.
Our most precious commodity is water. Please help us to conserve it.” Camper & Nicholsons is in full support of initiatives taken by
Government and the National Water and Sewerage Authority to conserve
water.
The marina has always been run on the highest environmental standards
and the marina’s management sees water conservation and preservation as
an important part of being environmentally conscious.
