SKILLS TRAINING HELD BY GENDER & FAMILY AFFAIRS DIVISION REAPING SUCCESS

Hillsborough, Carriacou, March 8th, 2010- A skills’ training workshop in pastry- and confectionery-making, organised by the Division of Gender and Family Affairs, is reaping success with a business spinoff.
Some of the workshop participants have formed a company called
“Fitzra’s Catering Service.’’ They showcased their newly found
catering skills at the recent ladies’ evening-out, which was held in
recognition of International Women’s Day.

Gender Coordinator for Carriacou and Petite Martinique, Vinishah
Cudjoe, said she is happy and satisfied that the 2009 training workshop
has had such a positive effect.

She said that as part of efforts to improve the well-being of citizens,
other training sessions are being planned. Among them will be training
in dining and interview etiquette.
