UNDER-16 NETBALL TEAM TO BE SELECTED TODAY

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, MARCH 12TH, 2010_ The National Under-16 Netball team will be selected today, Friday March 12, 2010.

The team will be chosen from over thirty secondary school girls from throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, who have been training together since January this year.

Senior netball coach in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Connie Belfon said, “We are looking for the best. Doesn’t matter if ten come from the same school; we are taking the best.”

Twelve girls, along with two reserves, will be selected to train under the leadership of Kathyann Williams-Gabriel, junior netball coach in the Ministry.  The girls will represent Grenada at the Jean Pierre Caribbean Under-16 Netball Youth Tournament from April 8 – 18 in Barbados.

The competition will feature 11 Caribbean countries, including Grenada.
