BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME OPENING FOR APPLICATIONS FROM BARBADOS AND EASTERN CARIBBEAN

Bridgetown -- The British High Commission announces that the UK's Chevening Scholarship scheme will open from 1 August 2014 for students wishing to study in the UK in the academic year 2015-2016.  Applications will be accepted online from nationals of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean who wish to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies at an academic institution in the UK.

BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP

Applications for the 2015/2016 British Chevening Scholarship will be accepted from August 1, 2014. Interested persons must apply online through the Chevening Scholarships website at www.chevening.org.  Awards are usually for a one-year Master's degree, in any subject and at any of the UK's leading universities.

THE INAUGURAL G.U.T CREDIT UNION NATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS FINANCIAL LITERACY QUIZ

St. George -- The St. David's Catholic Secondary School (SDCSS) has emerged the winner of the inaugural G.U.T. Credit Union National Secondary Schools Financial Literacy Quiz, but not without a keen challenge from the girls of the St. Joseph's Convent St. Andrew. Both teams ended rounds one and two on equal points, however SDCSS triumphed at the final buzzer by providing quicker, more accurate responses.
