GRENADA BOYS SECONDARY SCHOOL GETS MAJOR FACILITY UPGRADE

GEORGE -- Thanks to funding from Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries' (OPEC) Fund for International Development (OFID), the Grenada Boys Secondary School has received a major upgrade to its current institutional facilities, which will transform student services and students' ability to access high-quality, modern skill training facilities.

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

New York -- reachwithin (www.reachwithin.org)  formerly REACH Grenada, together with St. George's University (SGU) and Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF), will be staging its second annual conference on July 2-3.  Captioned, Children and Caregivers: The Importance of their Relationships , this meeting will devote itself to the importance of developing healthy relationships between children and caregivers (such as parents, relatives, teachers,  home care workers etc..) and the effects this can have on short and long term behavioral outcomes.

CPEA SCHEDULED FOR MAY 15

ST. GEORGE -- The final (external) component of the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) is scheduled for Friday May 15th, 2015. One thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven (1837) students are registered for the Assessment.

G.U.T. CREDIT UNION HOSTS FINANCIAL LITERACY QUIZ

St. George – The G.U.T. Cooperative Credit Union is once again hosting its National Financial Literacy Quiz for Secondary Schools. The quiz, which began last year, aims to broaden the awareness among students on areas of budgeting, saving, investing, economics and current financial news.

NEW MONITORING CHECKLIST TO BE INTRODUCED IN GRENADA'S PRE-SCHOOLS

ST. GEORGE -- In order to create better quality control for the nation's Pre-Schools, the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development has begun training several Pre-school teachers from various districts, nationwide, in the use of a new early childhood developmental checklist.
