US UNDER SECRETARY BACKS GRENADA'S ROBUST BID TO REVAMP THE ECONOMY

ST. GEORGE -- United States Department of State Under Secretary for Political Affairs, Wendy Sherman, has expressed support for Grenada's ongoing and active engagement with the IMF, the World Bank and The Paris Club.

The US Under Secretary expressed her sentiments to Prime Minister Keith Mitchell during a meeting in Washington DC.

Under Secretary Sherman told Prime Minister Mitchell she was encouraged by the critical efforts of the Grenada Government to build a coalition of social partners to forge a way forward in the face of the island's fiscal challenges.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka, to be part of a High Level eight-leader Working Group to advance the global intergovernmental negotiations on the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
