GRENADIAN STALWART ANGUS STEELE APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER, LIME GRENADA

St. George, August 5, 2011 — LIME is delighted to announce the appointment of Angus Steele as head the Grenada Business unit effective August 1st 2011, after completing over three years of tenure in the St Vincent and the Grenadines market.

Mr. Steele, began working with the then Cable & Wireless, now LIME 20 years ago as a Trainee Switch Technician. He worked his way up through the ranks and was appointed Chief Executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines business unit in December 2007.

During his tenure at the helm, Mr. Steele led the way in enhancing key stakeholder relationships, including Government, National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC), the police and FIU and the Commercial Technical and Allied Workers Union (CTAWU).

He was also instrumental in spearheading many programs which supported and enhanced the development of education, technology and culture in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. These included the introduction of the Next Generation Network (NGN) platform, being awarded the Universal Service Fund (USF) which enables the provision of wireless internet connectivity to 107 Educational Institutions as well as Wired and Wireless Internet to Learning Resource Centres and the donation of $500,000 towards flood victims in Georgetown in the aftermath of Hurricane Tomas.
 
Prior to Mr. Steele’s appointment to General Manager LIME, St. Vincent he held various positions within the Grenada Business Unit:  VP Operations, VP Retail Services, Head of Customer Care and Programme Manager, Engineer Customer Systems and Support, Assistant Engineer Customer Services, and Senior Assistant Engineer Customer Services

Mr Steele holds a BSc with (Hons) in Natural Sciences, Majors in Electronics & General Physics, Minor in Economics, Certificate in Business Administration with U.W.I. and a Mini MBA in Telecomms. He also completed the C&W Regional Mastery Programme.
