CHINESE EMBASSY DONATES SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO A SCHOOL IN CARRIACOU

With plans to increase the number of scholarship opportunities for students from Carriacou and Petite Martinique, the Chinese Embassy has made a donation of school supplies to one of the primary schools on the island.
The Hillsborough Government School was the recipient of the school supplies which included pencils and art supplies. His Excellency Zhao Yongchen who paid his first official visit to the island presented the items to Principal Barbara Charles.
His Excellency encouraged the students to continue working hard and take their education seriously, as one day they may be given the opportunity to further their education in China.
He was accompanied to the school by Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government Kindra Maturine-Stewart and Permanent Secretary Rholda Quamina.
China and Grenada formed diplomatic relations 13 years ago.
