The Grenada Green Group (G3) has singled out the Rotary Club of Grenada as being a leader in hosting eco-friendly events, such as Carols by Candlelight.
Dr. Clare Morrall, Vice President of G3 not only dubbed the event as being fabulously entertaining but also a shining example for best practice of eco-friendly standards. “The Emphasis on use of biodegradable food containers, the abundance of well-placed garbage bins and a roaming garbage collection team made the event one that G3 would like to highly praise. It is such a shining example of best practice. Thank you for being a leader in this respect,” she stated.
Carols by Candlelight is one of three annual signature fundraising events hosted by the Rotary Club of Grenada to raise capital for a number of sponsored community projects.
Steven George, President of the Rotary Club of Grenada said, “Carols by Candlelight is held at Quarantine Point Park which is one of the few public parks in Grenada. We are very conscious of preserving the environment as an area used by many families and due to its proximity to the sea. We appreciate that our efforts to protect the environment in which we operate has been recognised and will continue to ensure that all Rotary functions follow the same ‘green’ rules.”
The 7th Carols by Candlelight event will be held on Sunday 3rd December 4-10 pm. Patrons can expect the customary grand Christmas light display; a wide selection of food options, bonfire, holiday movie, a classical concert produced by Richardo Keens-Douglas with excerpts from the Nutcracker Ballet and a host of talented local artistes in a contemporary concert. The newest feature will be a beautiful fireworks display at the end of the evening.
“Every aspect of Carols by Candlelight is designed to be thoroughly entertaining, safe, and hosted in a sanitary environment that all can enjoy. An aspect of this includes our Park and Ride system along Morne Rouge to prevent congestion getting to and from the venue. Patrons can park their vehicles and take designated shuttle buses to get to Quarantine,” Steven George added.
The Rotary Club of Grenada is anticipating another spectacular turnout for this year’s event and guarantee a wonderful evening for the entire family.
