NEW PRESIDENT BEING SOUGHT FOR TAMCC

Written by on January 11, 2018

Established by the Government of Grenada in 1995 with the amalgamation of eight pre-existing post-secondary and tertiary entities into one institution, T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) is Grenada’s premier tertiary institution, providing locally and internationally relevant, quality education.

With programs across five campuses in three schools and significant partnerships with businesses and industry in the region, the college produces large numbers of graduates each year and, as such, plays a central and critical role in the health of the Grenadian culture and economy. One of these significant partners, the PETNA Foundation, is providing transformational support to the college with the goal of making it the top tertiary learning institution in the Caribbean. This ambitious goal is being advanced in partnership with McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, through its MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching and the Grenadian Government.

Now, on their behalf, we are seeking a new President to take on leadership of this promising institution and vibrant community and transform TAMCC into the leading tertiary institution in the region.

Working closely with and reporting to TAMCC’s College Council, the new President is a critical hire. Responsible for managing the academic mission and administration of the College, the President will lead the institution in creating a culture of positivity and enablement. The President’s role extends to setting the vision for the institution’s future including, curriculum revitalization, staff engagement and alignment, and building the respect and profile of the college externally. The President will also work collaboratively with the senior leadership team, ensuring programs and services are relevant to the needs of students and other constituents in the 21st century and aligned with both the college’s strategic direction and Ministry of Education’s expectations.

As the ideal candidate, you bring a blend of administrative and academic leadership experience along with a student/learner centric mindset and a deep understanding of — and enthusiasm for — the value of higher education. You thrive on relationship building and your engaging and visible leadership style will allow you to create strong and sincere relationships with college stakeholders.

You have a proven teaching and learning track record, are creative and skilled in working with limited resources and have delivered results in challenging situations on a regular basis. You posses high EQ, are collegial and authentic, culturally sensitive and exude positivity and, your perseverance and transparent operating style inspires trust in those you meet. Most importantly, you believe in the mandate of TAMCC and you have the ability to foster a culture that creates pride in the school, pride in working there, pride in being a student and a graduate.

If you are ready for a professional and personal adventure in the Caribbean, we would like to hear from you. For more information regarding this exciting opportunity, please contact Mark Surrette or Jason Ozon at 1.866.822.6022, or submit your application online at: www.kbrs.ca/Careers/12000.
