RED DECEMBER – SVG AIR GRENADA’S MANAGEMENT BEGINS TO PERFORM
Written by GTAWU on December 11, 2017
The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union (GTAWU) says that following its Low Level Industrial Actions at SVG Air Grenada the Management has submitted its response to the outstanding matters regarding the negotiations for a New Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) for the workers represented by the Union.
On Monday, December 4, 2017, as part of its declaration of “RED DECEMBER” GTAWU instructed its members of SVG Air Grenada Bargaining Unit to commence wearing Red Ribbons as a show of protest over the Company’s failure to address a number of matters relative to the negotiations for a new CLA.
On Thursday, December 7 and Friday, December 8, 2017 the Company submitted the long overdue responses to the outstanding negotiations; and as such, the Low Level Industrial Actions has been suspended pending discussions to be held between the parties.
The Union commends the militant workers of SVG Air Grenada for the actions taken to bring about the response from the Company. GTAWU looks forward to the actual resumption of the negotiations and expects that the Company would not return to the days of delaying and frustrating the process; and instead, be engaged in meaningful negotiations!
