Once again this year, Republic Bank is supporting the Grenada Invitational Meet and from the immense success of last year’s inaugural event, it seems likely to develop the reputation of being the most popular track and field event in the southern Caribbean.

On April 21, 2018, the Kirani James Athletics Stadium will be ablaze with local and international professional athletes as they compete in one of the first major outdoor track-and-field meets for 2018.

Republic Bank says is proud to be the official bank of this invitational Meet, and looks forward to welcoming the thousands of visitors who will grace Grenada’s shores for the prestigious event.  They anticipate that this athletic event will provide vast economic benefits and business opportunities for Grenada.  Additionally, the exposure to an international audience, from the media coverage to be provided by ESPN will be a great vehicle for promoting the “Pure Grenada” Brand.

At a brief ceremony at Republic House, on January 16th Managing Director, Keith Johnson announced the bank’s contribution totalling EC$40,000 and made the presentation to members of the Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Dexter Mitchell and Mr. Michael Bascombe.

Republic Bank says that it prides itself on supporting youth through sports, and that this event will be another perfect opportunity to motivate young athletes as well as showcase their talent and allow them to interact with some of the world’s best – on Grenadian soil!

The bank has congratulated and extended best wishes to the Local Organizing Committee, as together they continue to promote Pure Grenada as a world-class tourism destination.
