TAWU SWEEPS ANOTHER POLL

CONCORD DISTRIBUTORS LTD & GRENADA STEEL WORKS NOW HAVE UNION REPRESENTATION
Concord Distributors Ltd. and Grenada Steel Works now have Trade Union representation for the first time.
On Tuesday, the Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union swept the ballot in a Ministry of Labour conducted poll to become the Bargaining agent for the workers employed at the two companies. The employees who cast their ballots voted in favour of the Union for representation.
Representing the Ministry of Labour were Mr. Cyrus Griffith and Elizabeth Pivotte-Cyrus, while Concord Distributors Ltd. and Grenada Steel Works were represented by Raphael Nixon. Godwin Thomas represented the Union.
GTAWU is expected to elect a Shop Steward shortly.
