The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union and the workers at the National Lotteries Authority have commenced low-level industrial action as of Monday of this week.

The action of reporting to work in red union T-shirts was taken to register their frustration over the NLAs continued lack of seriousness about meeting to address industrial relations matters which have been outstanding since March 2013, and to commence negotiations for a collective Labour Agreement for the period January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019.

The Union and the workers have consistently engaged the NLA in attempts to meet and address these matters but the NLA has responded only with promises.

The NLA has now been given a deadline of one week to begin the discussion on the outstanding matters, or face escalation of industrial action.
