Swan Song will feature a wide array of artistes who specialise in various genres of music from Opera to Folk, and will feature instruments varying from Piano to Steel Pan. Acts will include performances from seasoned artistes Francis Urias Peters and Friends, baritone Randall Robinson, soprano Philomena LaQua, Christopher Julien (+ other vocalists), Lucinda Ogilvie and Trish Bethany herself who will grace the stage for the final time in her swan song appearance.
Instrumental soloists will include David ‘Peck’ Edwards on the steel pan, Richard Strachan on piano, Cecil Bartholomew on guitar, Spice Island Strings with violin renditions, Trish Bethany on Air Harp and Asher Mains playing the Djembe Drum.
In a rehearsal this week, several of the artists encouraged music lovers and well-wishers to share in this wonderful evening of musical talent and camaraderie as they bid farewell to Bethany in what is being dubbed as one of the most multi-faceted productions of the year.
Swan Song will be held at the St. George’s University’s (SGU) Charter Hall from 6:30pm on Sunday 8 April. Tickets can be purchased online at go2fete.com, via Grenadian Optical in Spiceland Mall and St. George’s, Gittens Drug Mart, and from performing artistes.
Following her 80th birthday, Trish Bethany announced her retirement from public performances closing the curtain on her distinguished 60-year singing career. While Bethany is stepping out of the limelight, she remains committed to sharing her vast experience with music students of all ages.
